I grew up in Bedfordshire and gained my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from King’s College London. After graduating, I completed my foundation training year in Oxfordshire, where I completed the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties examination, awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons, England. Following this, I accepted a post as a Senior House Officer at the Royal London Hospital. There, I managed patients with complex maxillofacial trauma and oral cancer as well as the dental needs of cancer patients in a specialist setting. I also have worked as a dental associate, providing both NHS and private treatment. I am currently in the third year of my specialist training in periodontology and implant dentistry at Guy’s Hospital. I hope to complete this training and enter the specialist list on 28/09/2019. My main interests in the field of periodontology are in understanding the complex links between oral and systemic health. I am also interested in the latest dental advances, including the regeneration of tissues which have been damaged by the gum disease process. My current research project is on the role of the Waterlase laser in the management of chronic gum disease. Outside of dentistry, I live with my wife in Bedfordshire and enjoy cooking, travelling and keeping fit.
