DENTAL CHECK-UPS
We all know, ‘prevention is better than cure’ and the same applies to your oral health
From our experience of treating thousands of patients over the years in Harpenden, St Albans, and all over Hertfordshire, we have observed that most of the problems could have been avoided if they had been treated earlier. If the symptoms had been detected at an earlier stage, severe oral disease could have been avoided.
We recommend 6 monthly dental examinations as part of your preventative oral care. Generally, patients who attend regularly require less treatment than those who attend sporadically.
Regular dental examinations not only help protect your oral health but also help your overall health.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A DENTAL CHECK-UP?
Our aim is to ensure that visiting the dentist and hygienist is a positive experience.
We know that visiting the dentist isn’t something everyone looks forward to. Whether you’re super busy and have been putting off booking that check-up for months, or whether you feel nervous and anxious about sitting in the dentist’s chair, at Wayside Dental we want to ensure your visit is comfortable and stress-free.
During your check up, as well as examining your teeth, gums and mouth for signs of any potential problems, we also carry out screening for oral cancer. Sometimes x-rays and digital photographs may be required as part of the examination.
Children should come for check-ups as soon as their first teeth appear. This will get them used to coming to see us and we can give you advice on caring for your child’s teeth.
If you are a member of our Oral Care Plan, the cost of your check-ups as well as any x-rays is included in your monthly payments.
